When ordering a Custom Label, please take a few moments to answer the following questions and email them to us. I can also email these to you if you prefer. These questions will give me all the info I need to create some samples for your label. These questions are also included on your order page, but just explained a bit more here.
Embroidered Dress Label
Design Questionnaire
1. What date do you need the label delivered? This question is at the top of the list, as it gives us a time frame to work from. I like to work back and forth with you to get the label exactly how you’d like it. But if we need to work quickly, we can! Please provide an email address that you can access regularly.
2. What fabric type and color would you like? Labels are typically done in white or ivory satin, but can be just about any color you’d like, and we can work with other types of fabrics as well (additional fee may apply for specialty fabric). Some fabrics embroider better than others, but we can work with most types.
3. What color would you like the stitching? A lot of brides will choose a soft blue for their label, and use it as the traditional “something blue”. Another option chosen is to do the stitching in the wedding color. We can do the labels in 2-3 colors, if you’d like also. If you’d like the colors to match exactly, we request a fabric swatch, or something with the color on it (such as an invitation, program, etc). Embroidery thread comes in so many shades, that we will be able to get very close.
4. How do you want the name(s) listed? You can be specific here. Do you want first names, monogram, married last name, initials, nicknames, just the bride’s name? If you are not sure, pick a couple options and I will do examples of both. If you are really not sure what you would like, let me know, & I will put some ideas together for you to think about. If you have a special wedding monogram, we can attempt to work with that also (not all monograms are possible, and additional fees may apply).
5. How do you want the date stitched? There are many ways to write the date, so please be specific on how you’d like it. For example, January 30, 2007, January 30th, 2007, 30January2007, 30Jan2007, 01-30-2007, 1-30-2007, 1-30-07, and many more, including stylized versions.
6. Do you have a specific font in mind? Some fonts stitch well with embroidery, but some don’t. If you have a specific font in mind, I will work with that if I can, or I will find a font that has the same style/feeling. Of course, we get your approval at every step.
7. Do you want a border or just the details? Some people like to have a border, some people don’t. It can be a simple rectangle, a lace border, or anything in between. I will offer a few examples if you think you would like one.
8. What address do you want the label sent to?
9. Is this label for your own wedding or a gift?
10. Where did you find us? (Optional)
Labels are typically 3-5” wide, by 2-4” tall, but the size can vary due to design selected.
Thank you so much for your order, and for taking the time to answer these questions. As soon as I hear back from you, I will start on the design of your label, and will have examples for you to see soon! If you have any ideas or options for the label that you do not see here, please feel free to let me know. My goal is to make the label perfect for such a special day!
